bulletin of All India Radio, Port Blair at 6.45 AM and 7.10 PM.
State Transport
Service and private operators run regular city and suburban bus services from
Central Bus Stand, Near Aberdeen Bazar, Port Blair. Port
Blair is connected to Rangat (170 kms.) and Mayabunder (242 kms.) both in Middle
Andaman, by the Andaman Trunk Road. The route goes through dense forest and
Jarawa tribal reserve. Travellers are not allowed to disembark in the reserved
forest and try to communicate with the tribals. Photography of tribals is
prohibited. State Transport Service and private operators run direct express bus
services daily from Port Blair to Rangat and Mayabunder and vice versa. Rangat
is about 6 hours drive and Mayabunder about 9 hours drive from Port Blair. Buses
leave from Central Bus Stand, Port Blair between 4.30 AM and 11.30 AM.
